Washington for Christmas

Well we are here on Camano Island in Washington, and it has not been all that exciting to say the least. We have basically been snowed in for a week now, and have only ventured out once. There is about 12 inches of snow on the ground. We were going to take the buses that go around the Island all the time, but those have been canceled. So yes, I am going crazy. We were suppose to go to all these fun Christmas things, but they were all canceled. It is just a bummer ya know, you can only play the 5 games a certain amount of times and watch TV or movies a certain amount of times and for so long. But we try to venture out to play in the snow, but neither Scott or I brought clothes or anything for a major snow storm. We are trying our hardest to think of things to do in the house, but you name it, and we have most likely done it,

funny...scott and I were talking last night, and all we could think of when in Rexburg was getting away to go and relax and do nothing, well we take it back. But as the big day is only 3 days away, we are slowly finding the Christmas spirit with all this bordom. But we do want to wish all of you a very happy and merry Christmas!!!

School is out for Winter!!!

Well we are officially done with school for the semester and will not be in school until april!!!! I need a break. Scott and I both are working for the school for the winter semester, so we still will be there everyday. But there will be no homework. My friend lindsey had her baby, he is super cute, his name is Justin and he was just shy 2 oz from being 10 lbs!!! I threw megan (chance's fiance) a bridal shower, and it went really well, and she got a lot of great gifts. Her face turned red on a lot of them, it was great!!!!

The northwest is getting a huge winter storm this weekend, and we are suppose to be leaving and flying out monday morning, we are hoping that it will all be done and over by monday, but if you could keep us in your prayers. And all thoughs who are traveling.

Have a safe and happy holidays!

The End of School and other things

Well currently I am in the Library at school and have been here for hours doing homework, and I needed a break.
Yesterday we celebrated scott's birthday!!! He turned 23! Friends came over and it was a lot of fun.

The End of School is kicking our tails! I have got so much to do, I have no idea where to begin. My brain is currently and will be for weeks, completely FRIED! I look forward to getting it done with for a while.
I watched a great "documentary" called the "The New York Doll" It is about the band The New York Dolls from the 70's and how one of them Author "Killer" Kane became Mormon, it was halarious and really touching, I highly Recommend it to all of you.

TWILIGHT!!!! AHHHHHH!!!! I LOVE IT!!! THAT IS ALL I CAN SAY!!! EVERYONE GO SEE IT!

I have lately with "all my time to think about other things" have thought about what my life would be like right now if I did not have the things I do. I tried to imagine my life if I didnt have Scott, and I of course got choaked up and held back the tears, because I really did not want to go there, I thought how my life would be different if I did not attend this college or any college for that matter, and what it would be like if I did not have the Gospel. I want everyone to know that I am very grateful for all of my blessings. And all of you being such a huge blessing in my life. You all have touched me so greatly and I love all of you.

Merry Christmas!
Let everyone know this year how much you care for them!

My trip to Yellowstone and Cody Wyoming

So yesterday, I went on a field trip for my American Humanities class. We left at 6am, and spent the whole day touring certain places at yellowtone, and going to Cody Wymoning, to go to the Buffalo Bill Museum. It was an amazing day, really long and tiring. But well worth it. I took over 100 pictures and am narrowing it down to about 20. Hopefully. But we have been studying intensely Native American Art, The artists who painted them, and Jackson and Moran. Moran is the man who painted the most famous picture that convinced the government that Yellowstone should be a national park. The picture is from the place called Artist Point. I have never even heard of it before this trip. It was the most beautiful and breath taking view I have ever seen. It is the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Here is the painting

If you look closely and see the two men, that is Jackson and Moran, that is where we stood. It looks exactly like the painting. It was so beautiful. My pictures dont do anything for it.

This is me enjoying the view

After we left the canyon, we went to the falls that you see in the picture, but the road was closed for construction, so we went to the lower falls. I had never seen a real water fall in my entire life. So this was amazing.

Now to Wyoming, I took a million pictures here, so I am only going to show you about 3 really good ones. But I saw and learned so much about the Native Americans. And I have a MUCH greater respect for them, and the amazing life they use to live.

This was a hide that was painted and drawn on to tell the story of a massacre. It was over 200 years old.

This a picture of a geiser at sunset, I think that it is a beautiful picture.

Well that is a bit for you about my trip. It was scott's and I's first time apart for the whole day. I know that seems really silly, but it was really hard.lol...

YAY for school!

Well school is starting monday! And I am really excited to start school and to be busy again. Scott has started his new job on the design team, and loves it, he is really exciting, and is already hard at work. He is still working at the music department as their graphic designer. So yes, he is always gone, and I hardly see him, but I know that he is doing something that he loves to do. And he is really good at it. My bummer came when I bought books for this semester, and it cost me $352.00 Yes this is normal for me, because I have a major and a minor that requires a lot of reading, and books. We have a new bookstore, and its HUGE!!! It is now as big as the BYU bookstore in Provo. We are really excited, but for a moment in there, I thought I was in Provo.

My brother chance is now here, it is nice. He of course is spending all his time with his soon to be Fiance megan.

Scott and I are really excited to be getting our bed in a couple of weeks, it will be nice to sleep on a real bed, and not the floor basically.

Scott and I are going to celebrate our 6 month anniversary on September 21, and we cannot believe that we have only been married 6 months, it feels a lot longer then that, but we are still so much in love as always.

I am turning 21 in about 5 days! And i am trying to get some people to come and hang out, but school is starting so its going to be reslly hard. But we will see how it goes.

I hope that all of you are happy. And loving life.

Nothing really exciting

Well everyone, the summer is quickly going by, but I am going to be glad when school starts again. Not much longer to go. Going to be nice to be busy with school once more. Nothing much has been happening around the Raney household. I got a really bad case of Food Poisoning this past weekend, and I am still recovering from it. My job is over with this week, not many more apartments to clean, and everyone is starting to move in. Scott is busy as always, with work, and trying to get things in order for him for school, he is really excited about this design team he is on, and is also nervous because he does not want to be let down about this whole thing.

We are almost about to get our bed. We have been saving for it for almost 5 months, and have been sleeping on an air mattress that deflates every night, so we wake up on the floor. But there is this guy in Scott's ward back in Washington, and he works for simmons matresses, and he is getting us a great deal on a nice bed. We picked out a $1300 king bed with a plush pillow top, and we are getting it for about $800, so we are very blessed to have this. So we are really excited.

We have been glued to the TV since the Olympics have started, and have been keeping up with all the events. Mine that I have watched is Swimming, Gymnastics, Track, Volleyball, and Archery. Scott loves swimming, Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Hand Ball, and some of the other weird ones. We also love Soccer. So, its been really disappointing to see China cheating, and getting away with it, and seeing Nastia loosing the Gold that she should have gotten, but its awesome that Michael Phelps got all 8 Gold medals. And we are ahead of China in the Medal Count. But it is going to be interesting to see how these end.

Summer

I know that it has been forever since I have updated this thing, but it has seriously been busy.
But I thought I would fill you in on what has been happening. School finished out really good, we both got good grades, and we are both glad to have a break. I was teaching swim lessons for a job and I loved it.

Diving 101

Just Hanging out between classes

So yeah, Scott got a job at school which is amazing, this next fall he will be apart of a design team for school, and they design just about everything there is for school. There is only 4 people, and he was chosen, it was a hard job to get, but we are thrilled.

Break has been nice, we have been working, scott is working grounds and I am cleaning apartments, they are hard jobs, when you are doing them in heat, and no AC. But it is paying the bills. We are making friends with some couples, and starting to play games with them.

Just basically hanging out with jobs and not much else until school starts up again.

THE BEATLES

Rexburg Idaho, became the center of the eastern part of Idaho tonight when the acclaimed musical group called "1964 The Tribute" came to town. They are basically The Beatles reincarnated. Literally. They look, sound, dress, play, talk, etc. like the Beatles. It was awesome. So scott and I waited forever and stood inline to get a spot on the grass. We put a blanket down and had snacks, and danced like crazy to the music. It was an amazing concert. It felt like we were at a real live Beatles concert. They are awesome. They played all their hits, and I knew pretty much all of them, thanks to my parents who made sure that growing up I knew the classics. I called my dad, he could barely hear me, but still wished and related how much he loved those when he was growing up, and wished he could be there again to feel just like a teenager. Scott's mom Patti, shared that she was one of the 12 million girls that would scream, and run down as fast as they could down to the stage.

Well like idiots we forgot the camera, but I got some pictures offline.

rain rain go away

Well rexburg has not hit summer yet. We have been having cold weather and rain for the past 2 weeks really. Memorial day was a rain storm and they have all been heavy rain. Rexburg is no longer a desert. haha. But we continue to hope for good weather.

We have started the Netflix program, and love it, highly reccomend it. We get unlimited movies in a month, and get them just about every other day. So I get to see lots of new movies and some of my old favorites. The past weekend we got one of my favorites, its Frankenstein, the hallmark version, and its based on my favorite book by Mary Shelley. Scott just read the book, so we rented the movie.

We got a great surprise visit from an old friend. Our friend Ryan Tibbets, who was scott's roommate, and you can say "bussum friend" these boys did everything together, and they were rommmates for the 4 semesters until scott and I got married. Ryan was not to happy with me when he found out I was going to steal Scott away forever. But he graciously stepped down and let me take scott. HAHA. But Ryan graduated in December, went to Vegas to student teach, now is living in Utah and came up for the 3 day weekend, and we got to hang out with him and his friends. It was awesome. We went and saw The Forbidden Kingdom, with Jackie Chan, and Jet Li. It was a halarious movie and really really good. We got a coupon to the dollar theater and went out and used it.

Midterms are almost here, and its crazy to think that we are half way done with the semester already. We are also registering for classes soon, and its crazy. But I am excited to be moving along with school and getting done sooner. I am about 4 1/2 semesters from graduating. So its really exciting!

Sunny day in Rexburg

Well it is one of the first nice days out in rexburg, and everyone is taking advantage of it. We started out the day by sleeping IN !!!!!! then we worked at the temple from 1030-200. What a great way to start the saturday. The Broulims' the local groceries store was having a party, and was giving out free ice cream and cotton candy. And hot dogs were 4/1.00. So scott and I went have enjoyed our selves you could say.

Then took some old bread we had and went and fed the ducks at Nature Park, was so much fun, they took a liking to scott a lot, maybe because he had all the food.
here are some pictures for everyone.

Snow Snow Snow

Rexburg got some snow this moring. It was about 60 yesterday, and woke up this morning it was snowing outside. The snow has come and gone today. It will snow for about 20 min, get to about 50, then snow some more.

So scott and I went on a date Friday night and saw Iron Man. By FAR...the coolest movie ever. Loved IT! EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE THIS MOVIE. Its really great.

So I am officially tired of reading text books now. But its all good. People have stopped making plans for memorial day, because of how messed up the weather has been. So no idea yet what we are going to do yet.

School...School...School

Well we are officially in the school mode. We come home do homework all night, go to bed, repeat the next day. It is fun seeing the difference between my homework and his. The difference in the majors. Mine is A LOT of reading, for I am a Sociology major and a Humanities minor. Scott is a graphic designer. So what does our homework consists of, me...sitting down reading and taking notes all night. Scott getting to draw all night!!!! But he gets really tired of it fast, because its detail drawing. But oh well.

Rexburg has finally shown signs of summer and end of winter. Oh yeah, by the way, there are only 2 seasons in Rexburg. Winter, and the 4 months of summer, before it becomes winter again. We finally got out of the 30 degree weather into the 60's today! hurray!

Have already been loosing the weight that was put on from the break from school. Forgotten how much you loose just by walking to campus and around all day. Now that we live even farther away from campus. We walk a lot further. But it is great excercise.

Here are the pictures that i promised from the apartment, there are not many, and they are not great.
but here they are

This is me smiling at the door, about to open it!

This is our living room. I will add more when its completely furnished.

And this is our pantry. Its huge and I love. I dont know if we will ever completely stock this thing. But we will see.

New Apartment

Well everyone, we are settled at school now, loving it. And loving married life. It's weird being on the other side of the campus now, with all the other married people. But its nice, because its quiet. So we can really study. But I do miss my friends and just walking down to their apartments and hanging out, but I love being with scott.

Our ward is awesome. There is about 4 couples (including us) that are not pregnant, or have 2 kids. haha, so Sundays are always a little fun. But we have great neighbors, and look forward to doing things with them, once the weather warms up. YEP! yesterday it was pretty much a blizzard, and today its really cold. So welcome to Rexburg everyone, where winter starts in October, and does not end until June. Thats not exagerating either.

I am going to post some pictures of our new apartment. Its really nice. HUGE! We have a closet that Chelsea, you would die over. My half, is about the size of a normal large closet, and then his half is about the same. They are divided by doors. We have a HUGE pantry. Bigger and wider then my parents year supply room. Nice kitchen, not a lot of drawers, but i guess thats the trade off with a huge pantry. We have a nice big bathroon, big enough for two of us. A second bedroom, that has a big closet, that has become our study area/ Scott's art room mainly. But its ok, he needs his room! And a room for the washer and dryer. We furnished our apartment with buying furniture from students, and got great things for great prices.

Thats basically it, scott and I are going to start working Saturdays at the temple here in Rexburg. And I cannot wait to see it!

Well love you all

things are moving along

Well things for the wedding are moving along. Slowly starting to get things done. But its great. Chance is coming home soon, and cant wait to see him again.

I have been working at CVS pharmacy and working as a pharmacist technician. Its been great, but we can get slammed a lot. It's amazing how much people get sick just over the weekend.

Scott is working at Musicians Friend, working as a phone assiciate, which means he takes calls. But he is loving it, great atmosphere, and loves the poeple that he is working with. He just works till midnight every night and the is about the only down side of it. Which is really nice to know. He is making great money, and getting really excited to finally be married.

Thursday, January 10, 2008

I wanted everyone to see that this is my love and future. This is Scott Raney, my life and love. I am finally updating this thing after a year of absence. But its great because family and friends are now on this.
