Long Week

Well we have survived the first week of school. It has been a long, tiring, and busy week. Don't get me wrong, we enjoy every minute of it. We both start our day at 6 am, and followed by classes super early. We both have classes all day long, and then we both head off to work till about 6 p.m. Scott on 3 of the nights has classes until 8pm. I stay on campus with him and do homework till he is done. We are both completely exhausted by the time everything is all done, then we walk the long walk home, and continue to do more homework.

This week, to add to it all, I officially start play practice for Nunsense. So there go more nights and my complete weekends. I found out this past week that I am going to be an aunt again. Scott's and I's sister-in-law Katrina is pregnant. This is his eldest brother's wife. So now we are going to have three coming with in a two months radius. Go family! :)

My classes are great. I love all my teachers. One of them is halarious, I found out that he grew up with my dad, and that my dad was engaged to his younger sister. Well that obvisouly didn't work out. But it is still funny all the same. My work is great. I love working there, very low key, just a lot to do. I am a TA/Office Assistant for the humanities department. so lots of grading and errands and all that great stuff.

Yesterday (Saturday) Scott and I went to Idaho Falls to shop. We both were in desperate need of jeans. I had no pairs, and he had one. We also went to WINCO. Which is a lot like Costco. So that was great to get a lot of groceries, for a small amount of money. But we returned and spent the rest of the evening doing homework and relaxing. For this next week, it was going to be a long one, yet again.

Schools in for summer!

Well school is finally starting. Monday begins the hard work for 4 months. I can wait. I have been really tired of just sitting around and working. I love school believe it or not. Chance and Megan have made it here, and are still in the process of moving in, but i am thrilled that they are here. Scott and i are both way excited for school. We went and got school supplies today. I got my new computer that i am typing on! Rehearsals for the play start wednesday. Things are moving along. Scott and I are both working on campus this semester. I am going to be an office assistant for the humanities department, which is my minor. Scott is remaining at his current jobs as graphic designer for the music department and graphic services. He has been promoted to senior designer for graphic services, so we are way excited.

Last night I held a 1960's night. Dressed up and all. Girls night outs are way fun. Everyone dressed up, it was a blast. Go hippies and funky colors.

Well life is great. The weather has been beautiful here in rexburg, lets just hope it stays that way.

Nunsense

Well, I thought I would inform everyone officially that I got the part in the Rexburg, Idaho production of Nunsense. There are only 5 parts in the entire play. I play sister Mary Leo. I am determined to be the worlds first Nun Ballerina. So those of you who know me, it fits me very well. It is a comedy musical. It is about 5 nuns who are the last surviving of the 19 who poisoned by their cook. They were able to get enough money to burry all the sister except 4. They ran out of money, so the remaining four dead bodies are on ice, while they put on a variety show to raise money to burry the last 4.

It is a halarious musical. Audience participation, with lots of laughs. Anyways. I super excited. The perfromance dates are July 16-18. Mark your calendars. I hope those of you who can come, do. You will thorougly enjoy it.
More updates to come on this.

Dedication

I would like to dedicate this post to my close and dear friend Kevin Goodale. Kevin Goodale died from a heart attack. It was very sudden and no one saw it coming.
He impacted my life more than I ever realized. He always supported me in everything I did. He came to my plays and musicals, my orchestra concerts and color guard performances. He taught me how to Hula dance. When I worked at a grocery store in the mornings, we would have dates in the mornings at the same time, where I would save the freshest sushi for him, then he would meet me to pick them up. He massaged me when my body would be "broken" from many activities. There are too many memories to name them all. But the fact is, is I am who I am today becaused he helped get me here. He loved me unconditionally. I loved him unconditionally also. I am really going to miss him. There will always be the empty space in my heart for my special Hawaiian friend.
I love you papa,
Till we meet again soon.

Update!!

Well for those of you who hadn't heard. My sister Chelsea is Pregnant! I am really excited. She and her husband Bryant have been trying for a child for a while, and finally the Lord hass blessed them. When I got married I inherited 8 Nieces and Nephews, but I didn't have any that were my blood. So I am SUPER EXCITED TO BECOME AN AUNT!!! I love my nieces and nephews I have now. I also have another one on the way. My sister-in-law Natalie. Scott's brother Brad's wife. She is also pregnant, and is due about a month before Chelsea. So this is way excited. I get to be doing a lot of Spoiling. PLUS!!! My best friend Carrie Hatch is also Pregnant, and she is due in October. So there is going to be a lot of baby love this year. I am so excited. If you all couldn't already tell.

I am also taking my turn at writing a book. It is a surprise what it is on. But I have been working on it for a while, I post it online for people to read, and so far people are begging me to keep writing and give them more. So it is giving me encouragement to keep going. I am hoping to have it all done and completed by August. That is completely completed. So I am super excited. Life is looking great.

And oh!!!!! Scott and I have our 1 year anniversary on Saturday!!!!

Going on with Life

Well our lives are slowing down a little. We stayed up last night to register for classes this next semester. And it hit me last night that we both are going to be seniors next year. Then moving on with our lives and hopefully out of Rexburg. But with the world how it is today, we are really grateful that we have this time to be in school and just concentrate on the small things. But the bigger ones are coming soon. Rexburg is the same as it has always been, and we are both excited and anxious for school to start and for summer to start. With Chance and Megan coming back up here, we are so excited to have them back, and glad that they are married now, so that we can all be equals. lol.

Any way there is not much going on in our lives.

Hope all of yours is great.

Valentine's Day!

Well Valentine's day has come and gone, and we had a romantic Valentine's day. It was very simple, cause we are simple people. And it didn't really cost anything. It just took some imagination. And lots of LOVE.

Being Saturday, we did not do things all day. But we slept in, and made breakfast together, and gave eachother our gifts, I got scott a rose and a poem that I spent all week writing, a card and a box of chocolate. Scott got me NEW MOON, 2nd book in the Twilight series, And a bad of Ghiradelli chocolates! And he made a card, and it was super romantic and cute.

I then placed a invite that I had made on his pillow to find inviting him to a romantic dinner in our kitchen at 5:30 and to dress up. I then put a sheet up around the door frame to the kitchen so he could not see what I was doing, he got dressed and I kicked him out, having no idea what he was wearing. I then got dressed in his favorite dress, which just happened to be the same one I wore on our first date to a dance. I had made chocolate covered strawberries, and porkchops, with a butter sauce, corn, and baked potatoe. Martinelli's to toast it off with.

Here are some picture,

February and March are the months of Romance

Well this is the season of romance! At least for Scott and I!
Feb 14 is Valentines day. We are really excited to be together this V-Day! Last year we spent it apart, We were both working, I worked mornings and afternoons, and he worked early evenings till about midnight! So we were not even going to see eachother, so we celebrated 3 days before by getting up really early and going out to breakfast somewhere that was open before I had to be at work early in the morning, it was not that romantic. But it worked. So this year, even though we are completely POOR, we are looking to a day together. So I am trying to plan something romantic and cheap, if you have any ideas let me know.

But not too soon after that we will be celebrating our one year anniversary!!! YAY!!! I cannot believe that it has almost been a year. We have experienced a lot since then, and we have grown together so much. I know that it is kinda customary that you give eachother a gift, so I am trying to figure out what to get him, have any ideas let me know. I am trying to give him hints at what I am wanting, I think he needs more help though. But I am also making a scrapbook album featuring our first year of marriage together. I can't wait. but need supplies first, and creative touches.

I hope that during this romantic season, that you make sure and tell everyone you love that you love them, and let them know how much they mean to you.

my love for dance

I wanted to share about my love for dance. I have loved dance my whole life...and it has been a huge part of my life. I came to school never thinking that I would take it up again, and when I did. I reminded me about how much I love it, and it is apart of my soul. My mother was a dancer and I know that my passion and talent come from her.

I have had the great opportunity to be on many dance teams here at school, and help teach some of them and choreograph many dances. But it all came to a hold when I got married. Not because Scott didn't like it or anything like that. I had just found my new partner. And I wanted to spend all my time with him. But as a year has almost come and gone, scott keeps telling me to take up dance. And after many long talks, I finally broke down and told him about how much i missed it, and wanted to get back into the dance teams and dancing. He agreed and made me promise to try out for the ballroom team and collegiate dancers team.

There was no real purpose to this entry but for everyone to know of the other love in my life besides my husband. I am planning a big present for someone special and scott is helping me out, i put on one of my many dance practice clothes and here are some of the pictures that I am using. Some of these are taken from different places and times.

Washington for Christmas

Well we are here on Camano Island in Washington, and it has not been all that exciting to say the least. We have basically been snowed in for a week now, and have only ventured out once. There is about 12 inches of snow on the ground. We were going to take the buses that go around the Island all the time, but those have been canceled. So yes, I am going crazy. We were suppose to go to all these fun Christmas things, but they were all canceled. It is just a bummer ya know, you can only play the 5 games a certain amount of times and watch TV or movies a certain amount of times and for so long. But we try to venture out to play in the snow, but neither Scott or I brought clothes or anything for a major snow storm. We are trying our hardest to think of things to do in the house, but you name it, and we have most likely done it,

funny...scott and I were talking last night, and all we could think of when in Rexburg was getting away to go and relax and do nothing, well we take it back. But as the big day is only 3 days away, we are slowly finding the Christmas spirit with all this bordom. But we do want to wish all of you a very happy and merry Christmas!!!

School is out for Winter!!!

Well we are officially done with school for the semester and will not be in school until april!!!! I need a break. Scott and I both are working for the school for the winter semester, so we still will be there everyday. But there will be no homework. My friend lindsey had her baby, he is super cute, his name is Justin and he was just shy 2 oz from being 10 lbs!!! I threw megan (chance's fiance) a bridal shower, and it went really well, and she got a lot of great gifts. Her face turned red on a lot of them, it was great!!!!

The northwest is getting a huge winter storm this weekend, and we are suppose to be leaving and flying out monday morning, we are hoping that it will all be done and over by monday, but if you could keep us in your prayers. And all thoughs who are traveling.

Have a safe and happy holidays!

The End of School and other things

Well currently I am in the Library at school and have been here for hours doing homework, and I needed a break.
Yesterday we celebrated scott's birthday!!! He turned 23! Friends came over and it was a lot of fun.

The End of School is kicking our tails! I have got so much to do, I have no idea where to begin. My brain is currently and will be for weeks, completely FRIED! I look forward to getting it done with for a while.
I watched a great "documentary" called the "The New York Doll" It is about the band The New York Dolls from the 70's and how one of them Author "Killer" Kane became Mormon, it was halarious and really touching, I highly Recommend it to all of you.

TWILIGHT!!!! AHHHHHH!!!! I LOVE IT!!! THAT IS ALL I CAN SAY!!! EVERYONE GO SEE IT!

I have lately with "all my time to think about other things" have thought about what my life would be like right now if I did not have the things I do. I tried to imagine my life if I didnt have Scott, and I of course got choaked up and held back the tears, because I really did not want to go there, I thought how my life would be different if I did not attend this college or any college for that matter, and what it would be like if I did not have the Gospel. I want everyone to know that I am very grateful for all of my blessings. And all of you being such a huge blessing in my life. You all have touched me so greatly and I love all of you.

Merry Christmas!
Let everyone know this year how much you care for them!

My trip to Yellowstone and Cody Wyoming

So yesterday, I went on a field trip for my American Humanities class. We left at 6am, and spent the whole day touring certain places at yellowtone, and going to Cody Wymoning, to go to the Buffalo Bill Museum. It was an amazing day, really long and tiring. But well worth it. I took over 100 pictures and am narrowing it down to about 20. Hopefully. But we have been studying intensely Native American Art, The artists who painted them, and Jackson and Moran. Moran is the man who painted the most famous picture that convinced the government that Yellowstone should be a national park. The picture is from the place called Artist Point. I have never even heard of it before this trip. It was the most beautiful and breath taking view I have ever seen. It is the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Here is the painting

If you look closely and see the two men, that is Jackson and Moran, that is where we stood. It looks exactly like the painting. It was so beautiful. My pictures dont do anything for it.

This is me enjoying the view

After we left the canyon, we went to the falls that you see in the picture, but the road was closed for construction, so we went to the lower falls. I had never seen a real water fall in my entire life. So this was amazing.

Now to Wyoming, I took a million pictures here, so I am only going to show you about 3 really good ones. But I saw and learned so much about the Native Americans. And I have a MUCH greater respect for them, and the amazing life they use to live.

This was a hide that was painted and drawn on to tell the story of a massacre. It was over 200 years old.

This a picture of a geiser at sunset, I think that it is a beautiful picture.

Well that is a bit for you about my trip. It was scott's and I's first time apart for the whole day. I know that seems really silly, but it was really hard.lol...

YAY for school!

Well school is starting monday! And I am really excited to start school and to be busy again. Scott has started his new job on the design team, and loves it, he is really exciting, and is already hard at work. He is still working at the music department as their graphic designer. So yes, he is always gone, and I hardly see him, but I know that he is doing something that he loves to do. And he is really good at it. My bummer came when I bought books for this semester, and it cost me $352.00 Yes this is normal for me, because I have a major and a minor that requires a lot of reading, and books. We have a new bookstore, and its HUGE!!! It is now as big as the BYU bookstore in Provo. We are really excited, but for a moment in there, I thought I was in Provo.

My brother chance is now here, it is nice. He of course is spending all his time with his soon to be Fiance megan.

Scott and I are really excited to be getting our bed in a couple of weeks, it will be nice to sleep on a real bed, and not the floor basically.

Scott and I are going to celebrate our 6 month anniversary on September 21, and we cannot believe that we have only been married 6 months, it feels a lot longer then that, but we are still so much in love as always.

I am turning 21 in about 5 days! And i am trying to get some people to come and hang out, but school is starting so its going to be reslly hard. But we will see how it goes.

I hope that all of you are happy. And loving life.

Nothing really exciting

Well everyone, the summer is quickly going by, but I am going to be glad when school starts again. Not much longer to go. Going to be nice to be busy with school once more. Nothing much has been happening around the Raney household. I got a really bad case of Food Poisoning this past weekend, and I am still recovering from it. My job is over with this week, not many more apartments to clean, and everyone is starting to move in. Scott is busy as always, with work, and trying to get things in order for him for school, he is really excited about this design team he is on, and is also nervous because he does not want to be let down about this whole thing.

We are almost about to get our bed. We have been saving for it for almost 5 months, and have been sleeping on an air mattress that deflates every night, so we wake up on the floor. But there is this guy in Scott's ward back in Washington, and he works for simmons matresses, and he is getting us a great deal on a nice bed. We picked out a $1300 king bed with a plush pillow top, and we are getting it for about $800, so we are very blessed to have this. So we are really excited.

We have been glued to the TV since the Olympics have started, and have been keeping up with all the events. Mine that I have watched is Swimming, Gymnastics, Track, Volleyball, and Archery. Scott loves swimming, Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Hand Ball, and some of the other weird ones. We also love Soccer. So, its been really disappointing to see China cheating, and getting away with it, and seeing Nastia loosing the Gold that she should have gotten, but its awesome that Michael Phelps got all 8 Gold medals. And we are ahead of China in the Medal Count. But it is going to be interesting to see how these end.

Summer

I know that it has been forever since I have updated this thing, but it has seriously been busy.
But I thought I would fill you in on what has been happening. School finished out really good, we both got good grades, and we are both glad to have a break. I was teaching swim lessons for a job and I loved it.

Diving 101

Just Hanging out between classes

So yeah, Scott got a job at school which is amazing, this next fall he will be apart of a design team for school, and they design just about everything there is for school. There is only 4 people, and he was chosen, it was a hard job to get, but we are thrilled.

Break has been nice, we have been working, scott is working grounds and I am cleaning apartments, they are hard jobs, when you are doing them in heat, and no AC. But it is paying the bills. We are making friends with some couples, and starting to play games with them.

Just basically hanging out with jobs and not much else until school starts up again.
